Dr. Tourage Rafeei is a native of Iran. He graduated from Teacher’s Training University, Iran with a B.S. degree in Physical Education and Fitness in 1979. After acquiring 5 years of coaching experience, he then proceeded to get a B.S. degree in Physical Therapy in 1990 and a Masters degree in Physical Therapy in 1991 from Texas Woman’s University in Dallas, Texas. Afterwards, he completed his Ph.D. degree in Combined Physical Therapy and Anatomy in 1999 from Medical College of Virginia/VCU, Richmond, VA.

Dr. Rafeei is Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy (OCS) and has worked at a number of prestigious clinics, including Texas Back Institute and Plano Sports Rehabilitation Center in Dallas, TX. Dr. Rafeei has been licensed by Texas and Virginia Boards of Physical Therapy and has practiced as a physical therapist since 1990. He is the only board-certified orthopaedic physical therapist in the region with an advanced doctoral degree.

Dr. Rafeei opened Center for Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine, PC in 2000. He designed his clinic to provide personal and one-on-one service in a private setting. He is skilled in treating patients with orthopaedic conditions.

Dr. Rafeei enjoys spending time with his family, working out, playing team sports such as soccer, and all outdoor activities.

JONATHAN GRYGALONIS, DPT
Dr. Jonathan Grygalonis is a native of Williamsburg, Virginia. He graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology, concentration in Exercise Science, and from Thomas Jefferson University with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy in August 2008.

Jonathan is licensed by the Virginia Board of Physical Therapy and joined the Center for Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine in September 2008.

Jonathan has a strong interest in orthopaedic physical therapy, with particular interest in evaluation and treatment of shoulder and knee. During his career at the Center for Physical Therapy, Jonathan has completed multiple continuing education courses including myofascial release, advanced concepts for managing the overhead athlete, and comprehensive treatment of the shoulder.

Jonathan is currently working towards becoming certified as an Orthopaedic Certified Specialist (OCS) and will further his expertise while working on his Sports Certified Specialist.

Outside the clinic, Jonathan enjoys playing golf, working out, playing team sports, and outdoor activities.

RICHARD LINKONIS, DPT, OCS, COMT
Dr. Richard Linkonis is a native of Richmond, Virginia. He graduated from Mary Washington College in 1995 with a BS in Biology while playing for the varsity soccer team. He proceeded to get his Post-Baccalaureate certificate in Physiology from MCV/VCU in Richmond, VA in 1998 and went on to earn his Masters degree in Physical Therapy from Marymount University in Arlington, VA in 2001. He subsequently Earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from MCV/VCU in 2007.

Richard has been licensed by the Virginia Board of Physical Therapy and has practiced as a physical therapist since 2001. He joined the Center for Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine, PC in June 2003 and became a Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy (OCS) as deemed by the American Physical Therapy Association in 2005. He has also achieved the designation of Certified Orthopaedic Manual Therapist (COMT) and employs hands-on therapy in order to maximize the benefits of rehabilitation.

Richard enjoys playing soccer, training for triathlons and spending time with his wife and two daughters.

BRENNA HARRIGAN, DPT
Dr. Brenna Harrigan is a native of Midlothian, Virginia. She graduated from UVA with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology in 2001. After college she volunteered with Americorps and then worked as a physical therapy technician in Denver, CO before returning to the Richmond area to begin her graduate work. She attended MCV/VCU and graduated with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2009.

Brenna is licensed by the Virginia Board of Physical Therapy and joined our team at Center for Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine in June of 2009. She has a strong interest in manual therapy and has enjoyed working with patients in the outpatient orthopaedic setting.

She has completed numerous continuing education courses to enhance her knowledge base on treating patients with orthopaedic conditions as well as courses in gait biomechanics and prosthetic training.

Outside of the clinic, Brenna enjoys rock climbing, swimming, running, reading and being outdoors.
